Dr Ibrahim is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, a Consultant Physician who serves as an Academic Lead and a Quality Officer for the Medical Subspecialty Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
She was trained at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Palmer, concept originator of the Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) unit which was modeled internationally. Then she pioneered in the geriatric care in the UAE by establishing the first MACE unit and the first Geriatric Core Curriculum for resident physicians in training.
Dr. Ibrahim received her MD from Damascus University, Syria where she specialized in Pulmonary Medicine then she moved to US where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. She completed her Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. She is board certified in Internal & Geriatrics Medicine. 
Dr. Salwa Abdulla Alsuwaidi

Dr. Salwa Alsuwaidi, a graduate of UAE University in 1997. Started her career in Dubai Health Authority (DHA) since 1999 to specialize in Internal Medicine. Currently holds MRCP (UK) and PhD Arab Board of Internal Medicine as well as a Post Graduate Diploma of Gerontology & Geriatrics from the University of Malta.
She was the first Emirati Geriatrician in DHA and had a great role in establishing the first geriatric unit in Rashid Hospital in Dubai in 2007. In addition, she was a pioneer in establishing the first Dubai rehabilitation centre for the elderly, taking care of all the responsibilities related to it as a Project Manager. Currently she is the Director of the Family Gathering center; that is a nursing home for the inpatients, and a day care centre for the out patients. Dr. Salwa was a member of many committees at DHA and had chaired some of them. Has excellent experience caring for elderly both at the acute hospital settings as well as at long stay facilities. An active member; attended many courses and conferences, and was a speaker in many of them, and represented DHA in many international conferences.
She had joined the Middle East Academy for the Medicine of Ageing (MEAMA) as a board member after completing 4 sessions in 2012. Dr. Salwa was a winner of the Emirates Women Award in 2012 for the category of Financial & Strategic Planning. She was a winner of Shamsa Bint Suhail Award for creative women in 2013. She was shortlisted for the final stage of Dubai Government Excellency Program in 2014 for the category of Distinguished Female Employee. Moreover, she received Medal Pride of UAE in 2014 as part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance.
Qadriya Abdallah Hassan Al Marzouqi

Qadriya Al Marzouqi is a Registered Nurse with more than 16 years of clinical and managerial experience in the healthcare field. She has joined the Institute of Nursing - Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998 and earned her Diploma in Nursing Sciences with Distinction in 2001. Qadriya obtained a Dual Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Fatima College of Health and Sciences in Abu Dhabi and Griffith University from Queensland, Australia in 2013. She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from Swiss Business School (SBS) since 2016. In 2009, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) Advanced Skills Program Training Center - Abu Dhabi has selected Ms. Al Marzouqi to become a member of the American Heart Association (AHA) Team as Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor. Qadriya is an Associate Member of Emirates Nursing Association (ENA) since 2014.
Dr. Tamer Farid

Dr Tamer Farid is a consultant of geriatric medicine at Primary Health Care Service Sector (PHCSS) of Dubai Health Authority (DHA). For the last two decades he has been involved in the care of elderly from several angles; clinically in out-patient clinic and in-patient wards of geriatric medicine department of Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, and Academically by conducting and supervising field researches as professor in the same department.
Dr. Ardeshir Hashmi MD, FACP

Dr. Ardeshir Hashmi is currently Director of the nationally ranked Center for Geriatric Medicine at Cleveland Clinic headquarters in Cleveland, U.S.A. Dr. Hashmi completed his medical school training at the prestigious Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan followed by a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Yale University. He went on to do his Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at the Yale-Saint Mary’s Hospital. He subsequently completed his Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medicine and joined the staff at MGH “Senior Health”, a geriatric primary care practice and MGH’s first ever Level III Patient Centered Medical Home. Dr. Hashmi was subsequently appointed Medical Director of MGH Senior Health before joining Cleveland Clinic Geriatric Leadership.
Dr. Hashmi is a graduate of the Intermountain based Clinical Performance Improvement Leadership Program, the Cleveland Clinic Transforming Enterprise Leadership Development Program and the Value Based Healthcare Delivery program at the Harvard Business School Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness. He is currently a consultant on the Cleveland Clinic National Consultation service, seeing patients referred from all across the U.S.A. Dr. Hashmi serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Alzheimer’s Association.
His clinical interests include behavioral management of Dementia, Frailty, Polypharmacy and Goals of Care. Dr. Hashmi’s innovation interest is in Geriatric Population Health Dr. Hashmi grew up in the United Arab Emirates and is eager to contribute to the advancement of world class, compassionate care for senior citizens across the UAE in an endeavor to give back to the UAE, which has enriched him with many cherished memories.
Dr. Hassan Galadari

He is a member of numerous committees in many international societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Treasurer General of the International Society of Dermatology as well as board member of the International League of Dermatological Societies

Dr. Khalid Alnaqbi is a Consultant and Head of Rheumatology and Immunology, at Al Ain hospital, UAE. He graduated from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University. He completed his post-graduate residency training at the University of Toronto in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and then undertook a fellowship at the Spondyloarthritis Program. He holds multiple board certifications in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology (American Board of Internal Medicine, and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, RCPSC).
Dr. Alnaqbi pursued his academic interests by completing the Clinician Investigator Program with a thesis-based Master of Science (MSc). The thesis was on development of a new instrument to detect spondyloarthritis in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. He has published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a journal reviewer in prestigious journals. He wrote a book chapter on (Diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis) in a book (Advances in the Management of Ankylosing Spondylitis).
He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR), and a Fellow of the RCPSC (FRCPC). He is a member in the Assessment of Spondyloarthritis international Society (ASAS), and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA). He has been a speaker in numerous national and international meetings.
Dr. Alnaqbi established 4 specialized clinics in Al Ain hospital: Early Arthritis Clinic, Connective Tissue Disease Clinic, Spondyloarthritis Clinic (the first in the Gulf), and Rheumatology Nurse Clinic in addition to the General Rheumatology Clinics.
He currently also acts as the Vice President of Emirates Society for Rheumatology, Rheumatology Program Leader in Al Ain hospital for Clinical Care Programs (CCPC) which received the first accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) outside the USA, examiner for the Arab Board of Internal Medicine, and faculty of the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residency programs in Al Ain. 
Faten Talal Adel Al Damen

Faten is a senior occupational therapist with experience in seating and postioning. She is the first occupational therapist in Abudhabi since 1999. Seating training is done across UAE ,Germany ,Switzerland . currently she is working in Zayed Military Hospital giving general occupational therapy services for acute and chronic cases.She is also has been nominated to be a HAAD License examener for the occupational therapists in Abudhabi
Dr. Haitham Hassan Mancy Hassan

Dr Haitham is a graduate from Faculty of Medicine from Ain-Shams University, where he stayed to specialize in Geriatrics. In 2013 he joined DHA and currently holds MRCO UK (London), MRCP SCE Geristrics and Master degree in Geriatrics Medicine and Gerontology. He is currently the head of medical affairs at Happiness Center and works as a clinical tutor at DMC (Dubai Medical College).
Dr Mohammed Abuelkhair

Dr Mohammed founded the Pharma/Medicine and Medical Product Department at the Health Authority in Abu Dhabi. He was the Head of Drugs and Medical Products Regulation Section and Chaired several committees including Abu Dhabi Pharmacy and therapeutics Committees, Continuing Pharmacy Education Committee and Alternative and complementary committee, Pharmacy Council, Vaccine Committee and Allergy and Asthma committee. In addition to several awards, he founded the drug information and poison control center in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Abuelkhair won the Arab Health Award in 2005 for excellence in pharmacy services. His major area of research is in drug safety and rational drug use. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
Nafaja Salim Al Hasani

Nafaja Salem joined the Institute of Nursing in Al Ain, UAE in 1999 and earned her Diploma in Nursing Sciences with Distinction in 2002. Nafaja then obtained a Bachelor of Nursing from Ras Al Khaima (RAK) Medical and Health Sciences University, RAK College of Nursing.
Nafaja has been working as a registered Nurse in Rheumatology Clinics since 2005. She had more than 18 years of clinical and managerial experience in the healthcare.
Nafaja has been involved in various activities of the Rheumatology department of Al Ain Hospital, which is the first outside the USA to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) for its rheumatology Clinical Care programs since April 2018. One of her main involvements is running the Rheumatology Nurse Education Clinic which is the first specialized clinic in the Gulf.
Hodan Hussein Jamaa

Hodan completed her BSN degree at Fatima College of Health Sciences, Al Ain, UAE, 2009-1012 and Griffith University, Queensland, Australia, 2009-2011. She worked as Senior Staff Nurse in Al Ain hospital for 16 years ,Initially in-patient wards for the Medical Institute .Then moved to the outpatient department .On 2016 hospital establish the infusion clinic for administration immunosuppressive drugs. She Joined rheumatology team as Infusion Nurse on 2017. During this time she is an active member in the team, she participate in reviewing the protocols for infusion drugs (e.g. immunosuppressive drugs, intravenous immunoglobulin, iron, intravenous anti-osteoporosis drugs) Lead a new rheumatology Nurse Education Clinic which is the first clinic in the UAE. Participate in staff awareness campaign for the preparation for Rheumatology Clinical Care Program Certification (CCPC) as part of JCIA accreditation for Rheumatology
Hodan also acting as clinical resource nurse (CRN) in outpatient department mentoring the new staff and conducting educational program.

I am a physiotherapist proudly working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. I specialize in musculoskeletal medicine and during my many years’ experience I have observed the importance of keeping the elderly busy and active in the family home. Maintaining independence as much as possible is key to maintaining self esteem and keeping active. As physiotherapists we actively encourage our elderly to maintain their hobbies and seek out new ones. We spend time educating family members on how to maintain activity at home. I am passionate about the importance of the elderly within the family structure and am delighted to be able to discuss this important issue in the workshop.

Dr. Thana AlYafei is an Emirati physician who is a Canadian and American Board certified internist. Dr. Thana completed her training in Internal Medicine and palliative care at the University of Toronto, Canada and has a master’s degree in Leadership in Health Professionals’ Education from The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
Dr. Thana has been working as a consultant physician in Internal Medicine at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Abu Dhabi since 2015, and is the program director for the internal medicine residency program. Her areas of interest include advancing palliative and supportive care in the region, and health professionals’ education.
